This 2023 university-led review shows that, in human studies, topical application of Lactiplantibacillus plantarum and Bifidobacterium longum enhances skin hydration and appearance in a variety of ways, with some improvements increasing when the strains are postbiotic (heat-killed). Topical application of Lacticaseibacillus paracasei lysate is shown to enhance skin appearance in vitro.

As a manufacturer of cosmetics, PROBIOTIC SKINCARE may reference published research on the cosmetic benefits of our ingredients, but we do not make therapeutic or health claims regarding our products.
Although our products are not pasteurized (heat-killed), we do not guarantee our probiotics to be "live" or "active" at the time of purchase because:
We list whole-cell counts (minimums) because studies show that our selected strains provide cosmetic benefits not only when live/active, but also as postbiotics (no longer "live" or "active").
